At this time we are mainly repairing iPhones, and Samsung mobile devices. In the future we may offer services with tablet screens as well. If you have a question please feel free to ask at any time and we will try our hardest to help you out. This service is mainly for people who do not have cell phone insurance, or feel this is a better option for them.
So to explain a bit of cell phone anatomy your touch screen is made of several parts. First being the glass covering or simply glass. This is the outer most layer and often times what is broken. The glass of often bonded to the digitizer or LCD digitizer using what is called a LOCA glue. LOCA glue is a UV reactive glue that only hardens under UV light. Now dependent on your phones manufacturer you may also have ribbon connected buttons as well as a main “home button”. These ribbon connectors are very delicate, you break it and its another part to replace. Many phones these days have an upper board with a camera (front facing), LED indicators, as well as a speaker, and a mic on the lower section.
There are many ways to repair these glass issues, each with its own pros and cons. Many repair places only use a 2mm double sided tape when laying on new glass. Some use LOCA glue, which is the closest to a factory replacement. Both require specialty tools, and time. We take the hassle out of it for you. I recommend the LOCA glue repair, its slightly more costly but I feel its a better option.
The next type is where your glass is intact and you digitzer has shattered. While it is possible to un-bond the glass from the digitizer, replace the digitizer, then re-bond the glass to the digitizer it is a lot of work. Let us do it for you. We have the tools, experience, and knowledge to get it done correctly.
Many of you at this point are probably saying “I can do this myself and thanks for out lining it for me.” I would ask you do you want to buy the parts and the equipment then pull your hair out when something goes wrong, like not removing all your parts before and melting your main board, or would you prefer to drop it of with a local reputable business who will do all that work for you? We here at Johns Satellite would do that for you.
